Bath of the Week: Shoot for the Stars (Lush)

I was so excited to try the Shoot for the Stars bath bomb! It smells like one of my all time fragrances from Lush, Honey I Washed the Kids (a deliciously sweet caramel honey). The bomb itself is so gorgeous, with swirls of pink and a shooting star on a gorgeously deep blue.

$6.95

$6.95

I also couldn't help but pair this with the Gold FUN (also Honey I Washed the Kids scented). And since this was a morning bath, the coffee was a must. Paired with the book I just couldn't wait to start, The Girl Who Played with Fire!

This made both me and my bath smell amazing! The scent is definitely not lost in the water, the gorgeous, gorgeous water. This is one of the prettiest baths that I have had from Lush. It turned the water a bluish purple with swirls of silvery shimmer and some stars scattered here and there. My bath looked like a starry night! I did try to use some of the Gold FUN as a bubble bar, but got minimal bubbles that very quickly dissipated. Definitely like the FUN more as a soap.

Warning: Tons of gorgeous pictures follow! I just couldn't not show all of these!

I wish the camera could capture the beautiful silver glitter that the water had! If you have ever used Golden Wonder, it's like that golden shimmer that is present but silver. I also had no skin or tub staining issues for those of you that were worried by all the color. =)

As for the book, well let's just say it was really hard to put down. I took a way longer bath than planned, especially since I was so happy with the water! I cannot wait to read more! Definitely a good book for anyone who likes a good mystery and action (if it is anything like the first one, it'll take a good bit building the tension and mystery before ending it with a satisfying conclusion to the mystery and a good bit of action).

It's Alive!! FCS Undead Collection

Fortune Cookie Soaps has released products back from the dead!! But hurry, they'll only be around for 48 hours!

This is so exciting for any newcomers to FCS that wanted to try certain limited edition products (*cough* Harry Potter *cough*). So hurry while you can! Polyjuice already sold out! =(

It's a Lush Christmas! Gifts: Best Wishes

$24.95

Nicely wrapped selection of Lush holiday goodies! But how much is that wrapping paper really worth?

This has 2 bath bombs:

$6.95

$6.95

It also has a 100 gram slice of Snowcake soap.

$7.95

The price listed is for 3.5 oz (or 100 grams). So a full slice is included in this set.

The full value of this set is therefore $21.85, placing the packaging at $3.10. I don't think the packaging is really worth that much, so I would buy this separate and package them myself.

Verdict: Skip it!

It's a Lush Christmas! Gifts: Christmas Friends

$48.95

This gift has the cutest reusable tin! But how much exactly does that tin cost?

It includes the following:

$5.25

$6.40

$9.95

$5.95

$5.95

$7.45

That's a total value of $40.95. Which makes that tin $8, not terrible for something so adorable. Definitely a judgement call on this one, whether or not that tin is worth $8. I think it is (Etsy has some cute tin boxes for about $20!). Plus any Lushie will appreciate a permanent item to add to their collection!

Verdict: Buy it!

Bath of the Week: Father Christmas (Lush)

I just had to try Father Christmas. He smells so amazing this year (like Calacas or Golden Wonder, fruity citrus with a hint of something else). I had to see what he looked like in the bath. Plus, I think he was watching me while I was sleeping...

$6.40

Oooh yeah! The smell stays strong in the bath and lingers on the skin and hair for awhile after. It also turned the bath a pretty green color.

Just look at that green! It can work for Christmas, but it was also very appropriate for Halloween!

Still didn't quite finish with Dracula, but I finally got my hands on The Girl Who Played With Fire and I can't wait to read it! So, I'll likely be coming back to Dracula after I finish the last two books in that series (I think I have a touch of reading ADHD).

The coffee is stronger, since it is a dark roast. Very awakening but not overly bitter! It seemed to take pretty well to creamer too (I used a caramel vanilla from International). This coffee is available at Target if you are interested.

Lush Haul/First Impressions

It's finally here!! I was so excited to smell everything! I will probably take quite a few baths (so look out for some baths of the week!) to test these out and see which ones I'll want to stock up on later.

Lushy goodness

The box arrived pretty beaten up, despite the fragile sticker plastered on it (or perhaps because of, I really think they see it as a challenge). Luckily, none of the items were affected, thanks to the box bursting with packing peanuts! Very happy with the packaging, nice job Lush!

Pop the champagne!
$29.95

This smells exactly like Golden Wonder (a fruity citrus with champagne notes, like a mimosa)! It is very thick and creamy. This should last a very long time.

I can't help but read this in Austin Power's voice...
$8.95

As a limited edition online item, I was powerless to resist; particularly, due to so many raves about Lush's buttercream soaps on the forums. I was a little nervous about the scent, but decided to take the plunge anyway. I may very well regret that. It smells quite a bit like an old banana to me. Not sure if the scent will change on the skin, but definitely not crazy about it right now.

Brrrr!

$6.95

I have heard so many raves about this retro online only item! I love peppermint and find them really soothing when I'm feeling bad, so I splurged on two of this bad boys. I really like this scent; it is a sweet peppermint. But be warned, it is a little toothpasty, so if you aren't crazy about bathing in something that minty, I wouldn't recommend it. Otherwise, go for it!

Spectacularly gorgeous!
$6.95

This is so gorgeous, I had to buy 2! I am so glad that I did! It smells exactly like Honey I Washed the Kids (kind of caramel honey scent), one of my all time favorite Lush scents.

It's candy mountain Charlie!
$7.45

This is so adorable and it smells like Snow Fairy (a cotton candyish scent). Can't wait to see what it does in the bath!

Mine had a skiing accident.
$7.45

He smells amazing! I am not sure how to describe the scent, clean and slightly citrusy? It has the Olive Branch scent, if you are familiar with that product.

Magical
$6.95

This smells very herbal, with prominent peppermint and clove notes. This one could definitely be messy in the bath.
Mine also moonlights as a pirate.
$5.25

This smells very sweet with slight citrus notes. He is pretty small, definitely only good for one bath.

It's not Christmas without Golden Wonder!
$6.95

This is my favorite bath bomb from Lush! It is a good size and has a beautiful smell (like a mimosa, citrus and champagne). It also makes the bath so beautiful!

Tranquilizers come in a new form.
$7.45

This is my favorite bubble bar from Lush! It gets rid of my migraines, so it is basically gold for me. It has a relaxing floral scent (jasmine and ylang ylang), which never fails to make me uber relaxed and sleepy. Do not attempt to operate heavy machinery after using this! They must sneak some sedatives in here. ;-)

Snow White approved
$6.45

This smells like fresh apple! It is definitely a must buy for any apple scent lover.

Like bathing in wine!
$5.95

Lord of Misrule has such a spicy scent! This is a rebuy for me. This bomb makes for such a gorgeous bath and the lovely scent will stay on your skin and in your bathroom for the rest of the day! I hope they make this one permanent.

So cute!
$6.95

This is basically Twilight in a different design. It has the same lavender scent that so many people flock to Lush for. A must buy for any lover of Twilight or lavender scents!

Oooh, shiny
$6.95

This smells like fresh lemons and lime. It is sooo sparkly! I had to give it a shot, but it definitely looks like it'll be a mess in the bath.

Too bad one of the uses isn't to eat!
$6.95

I have never used FUN before, but had to give this one a shot! Not only is it a shimmery gold, but it also has the same scent of Honey I Washed the Kids (honey caramel). And it smells sooooo amazing!

Lemony goodness
$7.50

And last, but not least, a Bohemian soap sample. The chunk they gave me doesn't look particularly exceptional, but it packs one heck of a citrus punch! My fiance seems to love it, so we may be purchasing a full size in the future.
