Reviews: Fortune Cookie Soap Sugar High Set (Halloween special)

I have had a love hate relationship with cotton candy since I was young. The puffs of sweetly spun sugar balanced precariously on a little white stick, tempting any gusts of wind to sweep it away! I always reveled in how it would melt instantaneously on my tongue, releasing the saccharine goodness of sweetness overload. Then I would wait for that inevitable tummy ache, that bitter crash of my sugar high. Why cotton candy have you forsaken me again!?

Now, I have relinquished myself to fawning over cotton candy from afar. The scent always draws me in, but I have relegated myself to the land of adulthood where unicorns are not to be believed in and cotton candy smells are designated for children. The land of adulthood stinks.

When I initially came upon the Fortune Cookie Soap Halloween special edition Sugar High, it never occurred to me that the scent would contain cotton candy notes. I realize just how naive that sounds; the name alone seems to be screaming it at me! The description lends to mind a sort of fruity sweetness; an idea that I found very pleasing.

Sugar High Set

Upon arrival of the scrub and whipped lotion, I was happy to see it was my favorite color, purple! The smell of these products in the tub was underwhelming. I got a faint sweetness, but not much else. It seemed this smell would be quite light. However, the second I put it on my skin, it transformed into a fruity cotton candy scent. A scent that seemed inexplicably appropriate for an adult woman! I am in love with cotton candy scents again!

Whipped Scream

The scrub is thick and appropriately scrubby. The lotion is moisturizing without being oily. After washing and moisturizing with this combination in the morning, I still feel soft and smell lovely at the end of the day! It is not overwhelmingly sweet and I love catching whiffs of this throughout the day. I wish these products were not limited edition. It is my understanding that all FCS Halloween products will only be available until the release of Christmas products (so probably around November 15th). So definitely get them while you can!

Sugar Scrub

To satisfy my new cotton candy scent addiction, I will have to try FCS' cotton candy all the things collection! If it is anywhere near as sophisticated as this Sugar High was, I may have a new signature scent.

Verdict: 10/10 for lasting power, scent, ease of use, and moisturizing power! Also, cotton candy scents totally work for adults; so let's not totally write off unicorns yet guys.
